Gnomes need "sunscreen" to help protect them from the Sun's harmful rays.

You can preserve the color of your Gnomes by applying several coats of Polyurethane to them a minimum of one time per year. Twice a year is good -- but once a a year is better than not at all. It works great on ceramic, resin, cement and even plastic gnomes.

Make sure your Gnome has been gently cleaned and dried before applying several light coats of the spray acrylic.

Miss Gnomer, I'm having a hard time finding the Krylon Matt spray anywhere. I've ck'd. Target, Home Depot, Lowe's and Ace Hardware. I found Valspar Matte at Lowes, but it doesn't say UV protect.

Actually I just had Ace put in a special order for a case of it!

You can get it at Michael's or JoAnne's Fabric but it's pricey.
If you want -- when we meet up so you can get Ava's Gnome
and your sleepy gnomes I can bring a can with me for you.

That would be awesome. I will be glad to pay you for the Krylon when I see you hopefully this Sat (Still deciding on the yardsale thing.) or you can deduct it, whatever is easiest..
One of my neighbors that was going to join us is having to have her dog put to sleep on Thurs. Its time today, but her husband can't come to grips with it yet either, so I think she will probably be in seclusion all weekend. Her dog got cancer of the bone around her eye and she's been giving her treatments for months and now the vet says its spread & its time to let her go. When I call her she cries, then I cry. So we may postpone the yard sale til the following weekend so she can join us. I still haven't forgotten how hard it was having to put my Mom's poodle to sleep 25 years ago.

I've walked the road to the Rainbow Bridge with many of my animals over the years. Its a very sad time indeed -- but in the end it's our responsibility to do what is best for our dear friends who have loved us so unconditionally. *sigh* -- my heartfelt condolences to your friend.
