Glenna’s Gnomes For The Holidays

Glenna’s Gnomes For The Holidays

“Ask MissGnomer” is a brand new section of this blog that I felt needed to be created.  I have personally observed many heartwarming and true stories about gnomes and how they have positively affected someone’s life.  I felt it was time to share them with my readers as well.

GlennaB first wrote to me on August 29, 2008.  This is her story:

“Oh please oh please, tell me where you got the David the Gnome ornaments you bought your first granddaughter? My father used to watch this show with the grandkids and we frequently found him watching it even when they weren’t visiting, lol.   We recently lost my dad and I thought that would be
a nice way to commemorate him during the holiday season. Thanks so much!!”

GlennaB was referring to the gnome ornaments in my post here:

I was intrigued by GlennaB’s post and I responded (in part) with this:

“Hello Glenna!

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Father…  I lost my Dad a few years ago and I miss him so much.  I was also very touched by the comments you shared on my PhenomeGNOME blog about him watching David the Gnome even without the Grandkids around.  “
I do have an extra set of the exact same gnomes you are looking for.  The pair I gave to my first Granddaughter!  They are in excellent condition and look just like new.  These little guys were made in 1979 or 1980 by a company called Unieboek Gorham.  They are pretty hard to come by and I was thrilled to get two sets at the same time.
If you would like them - I would be happy to sell them to you for what I paid for them — and of course “MissGnomer” got a great deal for the pair!  You can have them for $15 and that includes shipping them to you Priority Mail First Class (as all good gnomes deserve to travel this way :)  Email me and let me know if you are interested ok?”

I’ll Post GlennaB’s Response Tomorrow… “Stay Tuned”
